Wiki source for Traits
======Traits======
On this page you can manage trait groups, a set of characters that define a group of species. For example it can be used for creating species lists for specific areas or habitats, filter species with specific traits and for characteristic data of invasive species. In the web-interface (front-end) these traits can be combined in a search, a powerful tool for managing large datasets.
A data upload tool is provided. Read requirements under Data upload.
You cannot link taxa to a trait group from here. To do so, go to the Taxon editor module. (When there are trait groups defined in your project the option "add traits:" will appear on the bottom of each taxon concept card).
NOTE: In the web-interface (front-end) the traits will appear in the Advanced search section as a tab "Filter species" (between the tabs Full search and Taxonomic tree). You have to be sysadmin to make the traits also visible as tabs on the species pages.
